My trip to Kushal Nagar

It was a Wednesday morning. My family and I were going to Kushal Nagar in car from Chennai. We took the route from Chennai-Bangalore-Coorg. On a Wednesday morning, 19th April we left for Bangalore. We reached Bangalore at about 7:30 pm. There we stayed in a hotel called Citrine. Below is a picture of my parents in the lobby.

To know more details about my mother’s music classes log onto vidyasubramaian.com. We had lunch with the teachers. Then we went to Mantri mall. There we explored a lot. We even ate at the Swenson’s ice-cream shop.

These temples were built in the Hoysala architectural style. The way was too long so we stayed in a home stay. It was in a forest and was in Sakleshpur called Coffee Bean Villa. We stayed there for the night. That evening our host showed us the coffee plants and the other plants in his garden as well.

The next day, we continued our road trip to Kushal Nagar. We stayed in a place called Eco Habitat.

In the Eco Habitat, there was a man named Gowrish who helped us a lot during our stay.

My father and brother are standing behind our cottage near the parking area in the above picture.

This is a picture of our cottage.

We also had a Badminton net tied to trees, 4 racquets and 1 cock.

The next day, at first we went to the Dubare Elephant Camp. Here, we would be allowed bathe the elephant. It would come into the water flop down in the shallow part of, and we could splash water on it.  Sometimes, the elephant would suck some water into its trunk, and spray it on us. Here, many foreigners also came.

After the elephants had taken a bath, we had to feed them.

We had to feed them a bundle of hay.

The elephants took a bath on the river Kaveri. The road was on the other side of the river. So after we had parked our car, we had to cross the river and go to the other side to bathe elephants.

We were on the still and calm waters of the Kaveri. When we were rowing back to the shore, one of the rafts near us got deflated! Luckily, the people in the raft had the life suits on, so they kept afloat and got back to the shore safely.

Then we came back our cottage and played badminton for some time. Then we slept for the night. The next morning we had our breakfast.

Gowrish also let us plant some plants in the farm. The next day, we climbed up a dam, walked on it and went down it on the other side!

The next morning, we fed the cows in the Eco Habitat.

After that, we did a small trek of climbing two mountains. During our trek, our guide told us about the plants and trees in the mountain.

That evening we went to a Tibetan Monastery.

This monastery was built by the Tibetan refugees because China had taken over their country.

Then we left the monastery and came back to the Eco Habitat. We crossed the road and went to the banks of the Kaveri.

Evening by the Kaveri (1).jpgIt was very cool and pleasant in the evening breeze. We came here because it was the last day in Kushal Nagar. From here to Chennai was a very long way.

We did not want to stop at Bangalore, so we decided to stay in Hosur after visiting the Mysore Zoo. And that’s what we did. The next morning we left the Eco Habitat and drove to Mysore to see the zoo.

When we reached the zoo we paid the ticket and went inside.

At first we saw the birds.

Mysore zoo (17).jpgSince the giraffe was not in Asia, it was brought from some other country. Then we saw many other animals and left the zoo. We drove to Hosur where we were planning to stay for the night.

We stayed there for the night and left for home the next morning. What an adventure it was!
